About

Bethells Beach Cottages

Nestled amid sculptured gardens and sheltered by 200 year old Pohutakawa trees our lovingly crafted cottages provide magnificent views of Bethells Beach and the majestic Tasman Sea.

This untamed coast we call home is one of Aotearoa’s most impressive places and our accommodation has been designed to take full advantage of it’s abundant natural beauty.

The sunsets here are spectacular.

You can enjoy uninterrupted views from the comfort of your living area or watch outdoors while you soak in the Scandinavian hot-tub.

Each cottage has a full sized brick wood fired barbecue, perfect for those fine weather days when you wish to cook and entertain outside.

All our Accommodation choices offer complete privacy with parking to the door.

If you have children or like to indulge your own inner child our manicured lawns are ideal for games.

We provide croquet and petanque equipment with table tennis on permanent standby in the summer pavilion.

There are many activities to take part in when you stay at Bethells Beach. They range from a gentle stroll through our garden at one end of the spectrum to a surf off the “Island” at the other.

The area has one of the countries top rated walks and the glow worms put on an impressive display each night in the beach caves.

Wainamu fresh water lake is a short stroll from the cottages and an ideal place for a picnic and a swim.

For those who enjoy catching their food, Bethells beach is renowned for it’s surf casting and rock fishing, whilst surfers can take advantage of three excellent surf breaks just a short walk from the cottages.

The golfers amongst you will be pleased to note there are two first class golf courses just a short drive from the beach. No pun intended. We also hire golf clubs if you require them.
