Suzie Price Profile and History

Suzie has spiritually guided, surprised, amazed, astonished and stunned people with her abilities from  a young age. She connects to the energy of past, present and future and talks to spirits and entities to pass on messages to her clients. With people world wide contacting Suzie to experience her readings despite a long waiting list..

Since a near death experience at the age of just 7 Suzie has had the ability to see and talk to angels, guides and spirits. At a young age this was overwhelming for her, no one seemed to understand what she was going through or believe her when she would tell them about the angels and spirits she talked to. This isolated her from her peers and confused her parents as well as Suzie.

When Suzie matured into a young woman she found other people similar to herself and she read books about near death experiences and spiritual practices. She turned to the church for guidance but was told not to practice these abilities as it was wrong to do so. Also Suzie’s first husband did not support her with her beliefs.

Three Children and a divorce later Suzie went out on her own and finally began using her natural abilities to help other people and support her family. She worked as a psychic in various shops and at peoples homes passing on messages A few years later she met her current husband Stephen who ran meditation classes at the time, and with his full support she developed and toned her natural abilities and learnt new skills as well. Reading countless books and completing numerous courses. Suzie has advanced diploma’s in Palmistry, Tarot and Theta Healing, she is also a Reiki Master and has completed many other courses at spiritual retreats.

Suzie has been practicing as a professional Psychic Medium for over 10 years and has been performing Psychic Stage Shows for the past 2 years with great success. Suzie has appeared at venues all over the east coast of Australia and completed a brief tour of New Zealand in April and again here at Bethells Beach Cottages in October 2009 this year. Suzie has also been interviewed on ‘The Ant & Beck’s Bench’ Warmer Radio Show played over 45 Stations Australia wide and has been a guest speaker on a UK Psychic Radio Network.

With private readings Suzie will start off with Automatic writing connecting with her guides and energies from the past, present and future, she then uses her medium skills to pass on messages from loved ones on the other side, she then uses her Palmistry and Tarot Skills to finish off the reading. At her shows Suzie will demonstrate her Mediumship abilities to connect with the ‘other side’ as she does readings for audience members and passes on accurate messages from departed loved ones.

Don’t miss seeing and hearing the unique talents of Suzie at her upcoming event! Guaranteed to make you think twice about the afterlife!!

The days are getting longer and Anika Moa is celebrating with the Aroha Tour 2009 that will take her from as far south as Rakiura/Stewart Island to as far north as Kaitaia, taking in 24 destinations along the way. As well as touring the main centres of Aotearoa, Anika will be playing to ‘heartland’ audiences at venues in small towns including Akaroa, Ranfurly, Granity, Raglan, Featherston, and Havelock North.

Anika will be accompanied by a small band that includes two of New Zealand’s finest musicians: bass player Chip Matthews (New Loungehead, Opensouls) and drummer Nick Gaffaney (Solaa, Jan Hellriegal). Playing support is Julia Deans, the charismatic lead singer of Wellington band Fur Patrol, who will be showcasing songs from a debut solo album that she has recently begun recording.

Anika’s third album, In Swings the Tide was released in October 2007, and a year later Anika won Best Female Vocalist at the 2008 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. Since its release the album has gone close to double platinum in sales. That In Swings the Tide was written during an intense time of change and growth is evident in songs such as ‘My Old Man’, ‘Blind Woman’ and ‘Dreams in My Head’, a song which earned Anika a nomination as a finalist in the APRA Silver Scroll Awards 2008.

Anika says that writing In Swings the Tide was cathartic, but that the “dust has settled and it is time to move on.” She has been working on some “fresh” new songs over winter, which she will be road-testing on the tour. “I’m a writing factory right now,” she says. “So it’s all fun and roses.”

Anika says that “the new songs are mostly about love. Love songs are the best – and sometimes the worst, but for me, the best. On the tour, I’m going to perform most of the new songs and I’ve even gone electric, as in electric guitar-ing. I call it doing a Dylan.”

Anika is a gifted performer, entertaining her audience with her down to earth stories, delivered with a dimpled grin and a cheeky mainland accent. As outspoken and funny as Anika can be however, it is her beautifully crafted songs that take centre stage – candid musings about love and life, sung with the raw emotion that inspired them.

As well as the new songs, Anika will be showcasing favourites from a career that began with winning Most Promising Female Musician at the Smokefree Rockquest in 1998 and has included the critically acclaimed albums Thinking Room (2001) and Stolen Hill (2005). Anika’s fourth album is planned for release in March 2010, but right now she is “buzzing on the tour”.

“I tour at least twice a year around Aotearoa. It’s a good excuse to meet quirky people on the road, eat some yummy local kai and fall in love with my fellow musicians and the beautiful crowds we’ll encounter,” she says.

So celebrate the start of summer with a night to remember – Anika Moa, Julia Deans and friends are bringing the
Aroha Tour 2009 to Bethells Beach Cottages 20th November 2009.

Review – Cassette and Steve Abel Live

by editor ~ February 17th, 2009

When Cassette took the stage I expected them to be interesting and maybe a bit alternative, but they quickly surpassed all expectations and I suspect surprised a few of us.

Towards the end of their set -  we were transported into a different universe. Just when it looked like they were slowing down, Cassette pulled a fast one.

It was time to follow the white rabbit.

Special surprise was vocalist Sandy Mills who emerged from the audience to guest on one, or was it two songs?

Time seemed to have stopped. Even the band weren’t quite sure what to do at the end of their set.  It all flowed in a pleasant stream of songs that seemed much shorter than  it actually was.

Tonight Cassette totally impressed. If you are in Auckland they have some gigs coming up – be there for a very special time.

After a brilliant sunset outside we filed back into the pavilion to hear Steve Abel and the Chrysalids.

Steve Abel is one of those performers with a touch of magic. Right from the first song the the audience was there in the abel-zone.

I’ll readily admit a Song for Destitute Lovers only makes sense to me as satire but whatever the meaning the house was spellbound.

And so it went.

One song merging into another so that set also seemed to only be very short but we know that it was not.

The Chrysalids are a well oiled machine. Just enough canvas to add some punch to the whole sound-scape  but all stars in their own own right. Mike, Milan and Geoff all adding musical light and colour to Steve’s stage craft.

The pavilion is a bit like a junior woolshed with a hyperbolic paraboloid for a ceiling. It seems to enhance the sound without reflecting too much from the wood.

Picture a square wooden hankie with two of the corners held up and the middle line drooping towards a room full of tables full of smiling people quaffing on wine and magnificent pizzas. There are photos of the room below.

The audience for both sets was full of musicians (having a night off) saying things like listen to “that” guitar sound…I counted at least 4 well known bands or key members of. They know who they are.

Thanks to everyone who was there. If you were – write in and let us know what you thought.

Here are some great photos shot by Jason Hailes of  the night.
