Turehu Cottage
Turehu Cottage offers beautifully appointed studio style accommodation with the added advantage of a conservatory that receives all day sun and has magnificent views. Step through the French doors from the main living area and you can see across the black sand dunes and out to sea in one direction, and back up the bush laden valley in the other.
Your cottage is the perfect place to curl up and read a book, or make use of the easel and paints and indulge the artist within. Turehu is an ideal place for couples to sharing a romantic break, or for two friends to relax and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the west coast.
Please note you will need to bring your own food and drink.

Sleeping
Turehu has a queen size bed and a comfortable double fold out sofa (for one) in the conservatory.
Bathroom & Toilet
This is a beautifully designed space with an open shower and lots of creative touches that make it easy to see why it is named the fairy cottage.
Kitchen
The fully self-appointed kitchen studio comes complete with microwave, fridge freezer and oven.
Entertainment
We have many games available on request including Chess, Petanque, Croquet and there is Table Tennis on permanent standby in the pavilion.
Outdoor Cooking
There is a full sized brick wood fired barbecue outside the conservatory door. It has magnificent views out to sea and makes cooking outdoors a uniquely kiwi experience.
Scandinavian Hot Tub
The shared Scandinavian hot tub is located a short stroll from your door. After a day of adventure it’s the perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down. Shared with all guests staying in cottages/apartment.
Dining
The conservatory is a lovely place to dine and offers stunning scenery to accompany your meal. Alternatively you may want to sit at the beautiful stone bench on the edge of the lawn. Positioned just in front of the cottage it offers unparalleled dramatic views and is quite simply the best table in the establishment.

There is no direct track to the beach from our property. Please use the main public car park access
Although we love pets, we request that you do NOT bring them with you. Thank you

Wifi coverage is limited around the property but is available in the common area
The Scandinavian hot tub is free for the use of all guests - this is a quiet space and closes at 9 pm. Suitable for up to 6 guests staying in the cottages
The Portable Kiwi Hot tub is for private hire and we can place this on your deck, fill with fresh rainwater and heat. Suitable for 2 guests. Price is $150.00 including GST per night for setup and break down etc.
At the time you book please let us know your estimated times of arrival and leaving as this helps us plan our day. If this changes significantly please let us know 1-2 days prior to arrival.

Auckland CBD 45 minutes or train from Swanson
Please ensure you bring your foods with you as your cottage is fully self-contained.
